Chrysler leads its time in innovation

In the early 20s, Walter P. Chrysler had high-hopes of creating a revolutionary new car. Chrysler's first car was manufactured in 1924 and was the first car to house four-wheel hydraulic brakes. Named after its six-cylinder powerhouse, the 1924 Chrysler Six was originally priced at $1,565 and came fully stocked with aluminum pistons, replaceable oil and air filters, full-pressure lubrication, tubular front axles, shock absorbers and indirect interior lighting. The Chrysler Six sparked a revolution and the Chrysler Corporation quickly led an engineering revolution.
