Ten Year-Old Durham Girl & 100 Volunteers
Brave a Shave to Support Childhood Cancer Research
Durham, NC: March 28, 2013 – Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes. In the U.S., more children are lost to cancer than all other childhood diseases combined. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation exists to change these realties.
West 94th St Pub in Woodcroft Shopping Center will host one of its signature head-shaving events on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 12noon-5pm, where 10 teams of shavees and more than 100 local volunteers will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers!
Ten year-old Lindsey Jouannet of Durham has decided to be BOLD and go BALD. Lindsey is the only female member of the Bethesda Baldies Team, a group of 15 elementary and middle school students from Bethesda Christian Academy, to brave a shave to conquer kids’ cancer. Lindsey has participated in Locks of Love several times and raised money for St Baldrick’s in the past; however, this is the first year she has decided to go bald. When asked why, she states “that many of my friends, teachers and family members have been affected by this disease and I want to make a difference.” Lindsey hopes to raise more money than ever before - $2,500! In addition, the Class of 2013 Duke Physician Assistants (Blue Devil Baldies Team) will be participating with a team of 20 shavees (over half are women) and 45 event volunteers. The Blue Devil Baldies Team seeks to raise $30,000 for this event.
Opening Ceremonies kick off at noon and will be hosted by Mike Wheless of 94.7QDR, Anthony Wilson of WTVD and Ken Nichols of Sports Durst Millennium Automotive Group. Studio K Salon, Bella Trio Day Spa and Meredith Rigsbee will be onsite to shave the heads of our volunteers. The event will also include music provided by Hillary Rich of Aries Entertainment and a Silent Auction and Raffle for prizes generously donated by local merchants, including trips to Las Vegas and Belize. Children will enjoy appearances by Mr. Rainbow the Clown, inflatables, face painting, and a piñata area sponsored by Bandido’s Mexican Café. West 94th St. Pub will also offer a special food menu and donate a portion of its proceeds to St. Baldrick’s. For additional details, contact Kerry Bonner-Bryant at 919-599-9054 or kbpaw_21@msn.com. To participate as a shave or volunteer or to make a donation, visit our event website at www.stbaldricks.org/events/mypage/5619/2013.
About the St. Baldrick’s Foundation
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has awarded more than $101 million to support lifesaving research, making the Foundation the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. St. Baldrick’s funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow. Funds awarded also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials, which may be a child’s best hope for a cure. Sport Durst Spotlight ---> 2013 Elantra
Hyundai Elantra
Base MSRP $16,695
The Elantra is Hyundai's entry into the compact car market, competing with household names such as the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla. It is a competitive segment, but Hyundai hopes its standout styling, high level of equipment and outstanding warranty are enough to convince buyers that the Elantra is the car to have. Starting at $16,695, the Elantra has plenty of standard features and even manages upt to 38 mpg on the highway, while offering much more than just basic transportation.
ALL COMPACTS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL
Compact Car with a highly efficient 4 cylinder EPA estimated 38 MPG on the highway
The sedan version of the 2013 Elantra continues to offer premium style and features at an economy car price point. Available in two trims, GLS and Limited, the Elantra packs a lot of car into a relatively small package. The GLS is the more basic of the two trims but still includes many uncommon features for a car at this price point, such as an iPod-ready 6-speaker stereo, heated mirrors and a tilting and telescoping steering column. Adding the Preferred Package to an automatic-equipped GLS Elantra will further increase equipment levels by adding steering wheel-mounted audio controls, heated front seats, fog lights, 16-inch alloy wheels and Bluetooth connectivity.
TECH SAVY!!!
Buyers who opt for the Elantra Limited will get an Elantra packed full of features normally only seen on much more expensive cars. Starting with leather seats, the Limited features items such as 17-inch wheels, a tilting and sliding glass moonroof, heated front and rear seats, a power driver's seat with lumbar control and side mirrors with built in turn signals. Adding the technology package further enhances things, with a 7-inch screen housing a navigation system and rearview camera. Also included in the technology package are automatic headlights, dual zone climate control and an upgraded 360 watt stereo system.
The Hyundai Elantra GT is brand-new for 2013. A practical hatchback, the Elantra GT competes with the likes of the Ford Focus, the Mazda 3 and the VW Golf. The most tangible benefit of having a hatchback in place of a traditional trunk is of course, interior volume. Happily, the Elantra GT tops its competition in terms of space while also adding a certain sportiness. Weighing significantly less than its competitors, the Elantra GT reaps the dual benefits of improved handling and improved fuel economy. The slightly more upscale nature of the Elantra GT is also obvious in the list of interior accoutrements, featuring items like a cooled glovebox and a hidden rear camera for reversing.
The Elantra Coupe comes in two trim levels, GS and SE. Both models utilize the same powertrain as the rest of the Elantra line up, with a 1.8L 4-cylinder attached to a 6-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic. Removing two doors has a nice effect on the cars styling, further highlighted by the more aggressive front fascia. Alloy wheels are standard on the coupe, 16-iches for the GS or 17-inches on the SE. The SE also benefits from nice touches like a leather wrapped shift knob, leather door inserts and a sport tuned suspension. The Elantra Coupe is an excellent choice for people who value good style in a small package.
The Hyundai Elantra was given a complete redesign in 2011 and reintroduced to the American market as a 4-door sedan. For 2013 Hyundai has expanded the Elantra lineup to include a coupe and a hatchback. The hatchback, dubbed Elantra GT, has five doors, while the coupe is a 2-door with a traditional trunk. The sedan also receives minor trim updates, bumping up equipment levels on the more economical trims.
Economic; practical; well-equipped and available in a variety of body styles.

Sport Durst SPOTLIGHT ----> Mazda CX-5 SKYACTIV
Vehicle Profile: 2014 Mazda CX-5
The sky is the limit with SKYACTIV®http://sport-durst.ebizautos.com/mazda-cx~5/
Check out our selection, by clicking the above link.
The Mazda CX-5, on sale now at Sport Durst Mazda in Durham, North Carolina, is the crossover for people who love to drive. It’s spacious and versatile, all-weather confident, and it delivers the best highway mileage of any SUV in the country, hybrids included. The 2014 CX-5 builds on this impressive resume with more features and more power.
With impressive SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY, the five-passenger CX-5 has garnered many accolades, including Autobytel’s “Crossover of the Year” award; MotorWeek’s “Best Small Utility”; and Ward’s “10 Best Interiors.” It was even selected as “SUV of the Year for the Americas” by the International Federation of Automotive Journalists (also known as “FIPA”). The CX-5 was ranked number two in the “Affordable Compact SUV” category byU.S. News Rankings and Reviews, ahead of competition that included the Chevrolet Equinox, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Kia Sportage.
The biggest news for the 2014 Mazda CX-5 (MSRP $21,195) is the introduction of the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G (“G” for “gasoline”) four-cylinder engine. This new engine produces 184 hp and 185 lb/ft of torque, making the CX-5 one of the most powerful non-turbo cars in the segment. Even with the extra power, the 2.5-liter still achieves an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The new engine is standard in uplevel Touring and Grand Touring trims and comes paired exclusively with a SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission.
The CX-5 Sport comes equipped with the groundbreaking SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and maintains that industry-best 35 mpg highway fuel economy (manual transmission). The CX-5 Sport is available with your choice of a SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission or the SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic. Standard with front-wheel drive, the CX-5 also offers the added performance and safety of the Mazda Active Torque-Split All-Wheel Drive system.
SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY was incorporated into the chassis and body design of the CX-5, as well. A SKYACTIV-Body and SKYACTIV-Chassis ensure that the CX-5 structure is extremely strong while keeping mass to a minimum. The 61-percent high-strength-steel SKYACTIV-Body is lighter and stronger, providing superior handling and rigidity. The lightweight SKYACTIV-Chassis uses a front strut suspension design with a multi-link rear setup. The result of this obsessive attention to detail is a 0.33 coefficient of drag, one of the best on the market.
The sophisticated suspension setup, low weight and sporty powertrain all combine to give the Mazda CX-5 dynamic, car-like handling characteristics. With quick responses and nimble handling, it drives like no other small utility on sale today. Steering and braking controls react precisely and predictably, providing a very linear and progressive feel.
The interior of the CX-5 is built with this same level of detail. The cabin is driver oriented, with easy-to-read screens, well-placed controls and an intuitive layout. Supportive seats and an abundance of soft-touch materials create a luxurious feel to the interior. Other details include piano black and satin leather trim pieces.
Thanks to its segment-leading, 106.3-inch wheelbase, the CX-5 has one of the largest interior volumes available. Rear-seat passengers are treated to nearly 40-inches of legroom and there is still room for 34 cubic feet of cargo. When more cargo room is needed, the seats will fold with the press of one button to reveal a cavernous 64.8 cubic feet of storage.
To make all your journeys as easy and entertaining as possible the CX-5 has been fitted with a full collection of entertainment and convenience features. A 5.8-inch touch-screen dominates the center console and handles phone and audio functions. Steering-wheel audio controls, a USB port and auxiliary audio input are standard. Navigation and Bluetooth® hands-free phone and audio streaming are also available to make it easier than ever to connect your devices. For the absolute best in sound, the CX-5 is available with a nine-speaker, 225-watt Bose® Centerpoint® Surround Sound System with AudioPilot®. The CX-5 is also available with HD Radio™ and Pandora® internet radio, a new feature for the 2014 model.
While SKYACTIV technologies increase efficiency and help save weight, they also play an important part in occupant protection. The high-strength materials used to build the CX-5 create a sturdy cage to protect passengers and act as a strong base for a full suite of safety equipment. An Antilock Brake System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution with Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Roll Stability Control and six airbags are all standard equipment on the CX-5.
New for 2014 is an available Smart City Brake Support System that uses laser sensors to detect vehicles ahead and can help avoid front-end collisions at low speeds. These features and others helped the CX-5 secure a “Top Safety Pick” designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) last year. All Mazda vehicles also come with the Mazda Certified Roadside Assistance Program free-of-charge. This gives owners and family members access to roadside assistance any time of the day or night, every day of the year, via a toll-free phone number or the free Mazda Assist app for iOS and Android.
The 2014 Mazda CX-5 is a small utility without compromise, offering performance, space and efficiency. With multiple class- and industry-leading features, the CX-5 is one of the best vehicles on the road, and it has the awards to prove it.

SPORT DURST SPOTLIGHT ---> 2013 Sonata
SPOTLIGHT ----> 2013 Sonata
Higher Performance Fewer Fill Ups
The Sonata offers best in class standard horsepower. Looking for more power? The turbocharged 2.0L GDI engine is available with the SE and Limited. Because it's always good to have options.
- Most Dependable Midsize Car ~ J.D. Power and Associates 2013 Vehicle Dependability Study
- 2012 10 Best Sedan under $25,000 by Kelley Blue Book (KBB)
- 2013 IIHS Top Safety Pick ~ Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
- Driver's Choice Award for Best Family Sedan ~ MotorWeek
- Sonata wins a 2012 Total Cost of Ownership Award - Kelley Blue Book
As the first family sedan to receive a 5-star crash test rating even under new, more stringent guidelines, its no surprise Sonata earned a 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick
Hyundai has put longtime mid-size best-sellers, including the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, directly into its sites with the Sonata. Hyundai meets or exceeds those models in most respects. With EPA fuel economy ratings of up to 24 mpg city, 35 highway, thanks to a direct-injection 4-cylinder engine, the Sonata has fuel-efficiency and power performance numbers that are both better than most base-model mid-size sedans. The Sonata Hybrid promises strong fuel efficiency. The Sonata is classified by the EPA as a "large car," and has more passenger room than most of its competitors, while it has significantly more trunk space than the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu. The Sonata is also lighter than many cars in its class and has a short 35.8-foot turning diameter that's also shorter than most other mid-size sedans. The Sonata also has a trump card in safety, as it's a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS. Warranty continues to be a strong selling point for the Sonata. Like with all Hyundai products; the Sonata includes a 5-year/60,000-mile fully transferable bumper-to-bumper warranty, 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and five years of roadside go cheassistance.
The Sonata lineup comes powered by a choice of 2 4-cylinder engines. The 2.4L unit delivers 198 horsepower with a 6-speed automatic transmission. An optional 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder kicks out 274 horsepower in either SE or Limited trims. The 206-hp Sonata Hybrid pairs that 2.4L (rated at 166 hp) with a permanent magnet high-density electric motor that makes 40 hp and an industry-first lithium polymer battery. The car is capable of running in all-electric mode up to 74 mph.
The 2.4L Sonata gets an EPA-rated 24 mpg city, 35 highway. The engine's direct-injection design aids that, along with improved aerodynamics and an overall curb weight that's lighter than most other mid-size sedans. The turbo provides great efficiency as well, rated at 22 mpg city, 34 mpg highway.
The 2013 Hyundai Sonata has a rather conventional suspension layout, with MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link, independent arrangement in back, along with front and rear stabilizer bars to help bring sporty handling along with a good, well damped ride. All Sonatas have front-wheel drive. GLS and Limited models get low-rolling-resistance tires aimed at improving fuel economy, while the SE gets stickier low-profile tires and a firmer suspension tuning.
The Sonata's interior design "wraps around" the front occupants and flows through to the back, bringing climate-control vents, while the instrument panel itself follows a straightforward control layout that puts entertainment and navigation controls up high with large climate controls just below. Front and backseat appointments are plenty spacious for five adults--including enough space for taller adults in back.
In addition to the base GLS, two other Sonata automatic-only models of the Sonata are offered: the sporty SE and the especially luxurious Limited. The three models of the Sonata also get quite different interior appointments; lower-level Sonata models get a textured plastic material for the dash and doors, while SE models get more metallic trim and Limited models get woodgrain or piano-black trims. SE models add steering-wheel paddle-shifters and Limited models get a sport-shift mode for the transmission.
GLS models get a very generous array of standard equipment that includes keyless entry, cruise control, air conditioning, tilt/telescopic steering wheel adjustment, steering-wheel controls, power windows, locks, mirrors and split folding rear seatbacks. SE models add sport seats, leather steering-wheel and shifter trim and push button start, plus fog lamps, "hyper silver alloy" wheels, performance tires and a chrome-tipped exhaust. At the top of the range, the Limited gets a long list of additional features, such as a sunroof, heated leather seats (front and back), heated mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control and rear-seat heat ducts.
All Sonata models get a USB interface as well as an iPod connector, plus XM satellite radio and a Bluetooth hands-free calling interface. A 3-month trial subscription for XM is included. A wide-screen navigation system is optional on the SE and Limited, featuring real-time XM NavTraffic along with weather, stock and sports information. Also included with the system are Bluetooth audio streaming capability and 8 GB of flash memory for storing music files.
Safety features are strong in the 2013 Sonata. All models get active head restraints for front occupants and include front side airbags, full-length side-curtain bags, electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes.
Following a thorough redesign in 2011, the 2013 Hyundai Sonata carries over relatively unchanged. More features are now available on the base model, and all versions come equipped with a 6-speed automatic as the only transmission option. SE models now feature heated front seats. Limited models no longer include a panoramic sunroof--instead, a regular sunroof has been fitted. The panoramic version is now available as part of Limited Premium Package.
Strong, fuel-efficient engine; radically different styling inside and out; high-tech communications and entertainment features; excellent ride quality; roomy interior; trunk space

Come take a test drive, you will be happy. The 300 presents a luxury big-car design and style at an affordable price. The 2011 redesign gave the 300 an Audi-like appearance and presence, but prices still start around $30,000. The lineup of powerful engines and available all-wheel drive mean the 300 also has performance credibility. Inside, a comprehensive list of standard equipment as well as safety technology means the 300 competes above its class in both features and price.
The Chrysler 300 family comes in Touring, 300S, 300C, 300C Luxury and 300 SRT8 trim. The standard engine is a 3.6L V6, while the optional engine is a 5.7L Hemi V8. The SRT8 comes standard with a tire-melting 470-hp 6.4L V8.
With the different powertrains available, the Chrysler 300 spans a wide range from an affordable, spacious and powerful sedan to a serious luxury and performance tourer. The base powertrain on the Chrysler 300 is a 3.6L V6 that makes 292 horsepower. The optional 360 hp 5.7L Hemi V8 engine is flex-fuel compatible. V6 models come equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while V8 models come equipped with a more robust 5-speed automatic. The available all-wheel drive system combines an active transfer case for seamless response when traction is needed and front-axle disconnect to help improve fuel economy when grip is sure.
In any of its variants, the 300 is a spacious sedan with a comfortable ride, supportive seating and a back seat with enough headroom and legroom for adults. Trunk space is cavernous, and the interior is very well isolated from road and wind noise.
The base 300 Touring model is the definition of affordable luxury. It comes well-equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated power mirrors, a UConnect stereo with an 8.4-inch touch-screen display, power front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows and locks, dual-zone air conditioning and Keyless Go. The 300's strong safety feature list includes traction control, stability control, brake assist with Ready Alert and Rainy day brake support. Front, side and a driver's knee airbags are also standard.
The 300C adds SmartBeam headlights, rain-sensitive wipers, exterior chrome trim, standard Garmin navigation, heated rear seats, heated and cooled cupholders, wood trim and power adjustable pedals and a ParkView rear back-up camera.
The 300S comes standard with a slightly more powerful version of the 3.6L V6, making 300 horsepower. Leather seating, power driver and passenger seats, a 522-watt stereo and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels are all standard on the 300S. Like the 300C, the 300S is available with the bigger 5.7L V8 engine.
The SRT8 returns with a track-tuned suspension and gobs of power. The outside of the SRT8 is appropriately mean looking with 20-inch wheels, a lowered stance and a unique grill. Capable of 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds, the SRT8 is unmatched in its combination of luxury and breakneck speed.
The SafetyTec Group, available on the Limited and the 300C, adds high-tech safety equipment, including adaptive speed control, HID headlamps, blind-spot and cross-path detection, ParkSense front and rear park assist system, rear fog lamps and rain-sensitive wipers.
2013 brings relatively minor changes to the Chrysler 300 model lineup. The Limited model has been dropped, consolidating the lineup and making things a bit simpler. All-wheel drive is now available across the entire model range with the exception of the high performance SRT8 and the V6 has been given a slight boost in power for 300S models. 300S and SRT8 models also get an optional black painted roof.

Hyundai sketches out HND-9 luxury sports coupe concept ahead of Seoul
Hyundai has dropped a couple of rendered looks at its
forthcoming HND-9 luxury sports coupe concept, which will debut at the 2013
Seoul Motor Show. While full details probably won't be released until then, the
Korean automaker has said the butterfly-doored machine will bow with a
direct-injection, turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine good for around 365
horsepower. The mill is bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission and
puts its grunt to the rear tires. While the doors are pure showcar theater, we
dig the Aston-inspired long nose and boisterous rear haunches.
Look for the car to receive an actual introduction on March 28, and while we don't expect to see the HND-9 on showroom floors any time soon, some of the creation's design language may make it to production models.

We even have a bank that does not solely focus on your credit but on your stability and income. We understand bad things happen to good people.
What is FICO?FICO stands for Fair Isaac Corporation, which is the company that created the industry standard credit scores used by almost all lenders. FICO has been in business since the 1950s but began building the famous FICO score in the mid 1980s.
A “FICO score" is simply a numeric summary of the information in your credit reports that represents your potential credit risk. These scores are delivered to lenders when they purchase your credit reports and review your application. A higher FICO score means that you are a lower credit risk and you will probably be approved at better rates and terms than if your FICO score is lower. If you have low scores, you could be approved with less attractive interest rates or be declined all together.
The highest FICO score you can get is 850 and the lowest is 300. The vast majority of the U.S. population scores between 500 and 799. It is very uncommon to have a credit score over 800. Anything over 750 is considered an excellent score.
What Credit is?
Credit is essential for borrowing money. Your credit worthiness is rated by the three credit reporting agencies and FICO. The scores represent the likelihood that a person will repay their loans, and it’s determined by a person’s borrowing history and other variables. Below are answers to frequently asked questions about credit, credit reports and credit scores. If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact our Finance Department.
I have bad credit, what should I do?
If you have less than perfect credit, don’t fret; you’re not alone. Millions suffer from bad credit because of a variety of reasons. To improve your credit, start by getting reports from all three reporting agencies. This will shed light on what exactly is impairing your credit. Credit reports may contain inaccuracies that you can correct to help get your credit back on track. Paying down high balances and paying on time will go a long way to improving your credit.
What is a credit score?
A credit score represents your creditworthiness and it’s used by lenders to gauge whether a person will make payments on time. Scores are largely based on your borrowing history. The most common type of credit score available to consumers is the FICO score, which ranges from 300-850. The higher the credit score, the more likely you’ll be able obtain credit and/or secure a lower interest rate.
What is a good credit score?
Credit scores range between 300 and 850. Typically, a good credit score is above 700.
What is a bad credit score?
The average credit score is 680. Anything below 620 is considered a poor score, or “sub-prime.”
How do I maintain a good credit score?
For those who already have a good credit score, rest assured that it’s much easier to maintain a good score than to improve a poor one. Good credit can be maintained by adhering to healthy financial habits, such as making payments on time and shopping on credit only when it’s absolutely necessary. Avoid making dramatic credit changes and don’t close old accounts.
