Get a bird’s eye view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Learn to hang glide (North Carolina)
The dunes at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head, N.C., offer an ideal learning environment for those who want to soar through the air on a hang glider. Kitty Hawk Kites (www.kittyhawk.com) offers expert instruction to help people get in the air and help them build their confidence as well as their knowledge of safety procedures. The staff has been offering lessons here for more than 25 years and is approved by the State Park Service. A typical beginner lesson lasts three hours.
